Welcome to my Holistic Wellness & Lifestyle Blog! I’ve been interested in learning about all things Holistic Wellness and living a more toxin-free lifestyle for nearly 15 years, which has led me to looking into all of the harmful toxins found in conventional makeup and body-care products. Along my Holistic Health & Wellness journey, I’ve learned so much about Indie makeup brands, the importance of only supporting cruelty-free brands, and how amazing it feels to put good-for-you ingredients on your skin every day!
About 12 years ago, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which turned into full blown Hashimoto’s Disease after the birth of my son. This chronic illness led me to devour book after book, article after article on natural remedies, exercise programs, and using food as fuel to naturally increase my energy and to maintain a healthy weight. Since being diagnosed with this auto-immune disease, even with taking medication prescribed by my doctor, I still have symptoms of chronic fatigue, chronic headaches/migraines, wicked PMS, depression, and anxiety.
Throughout the process of looking into what I can do to help myself, I became a certified Wellness Coach learning about nutrition, lifestyle factors, and the importance of moving one’s body on a daily basis to address the root causes of all forms of chronic illness. I also have a Masters degree in Counseling with a specialization in Mental Health. I want to share what I’ve learned about overcoming physical challenges by empowering each of you to take charge of your health and well-being!
My goal is to provide you with tools and resources that will give you the boost you need to not just get through the day, but to FLOURISH in life, one day at a time! Holistic Wellness is all about getting to the root cause of major problems and finding balance in all major areas of life: physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, as well as all of the other areas in between that affect us on so many levels. When we feel overwhelmed or defeated in life, we go into auto-pilot mode and sometimes decades can go by before we realize we may be alive, but we aren’t actually LIVING and taking in all that life has to offer. Life is so much more than the hand we’ve been dealt; it’s about what we make of what we have! Possibilities are all around us and within us, we just have to get out of auto-pilot mode and learn to be present in the here and now in order to realize our full potential!
