Aether Beauty released a NEW line of Crystal-charged Cheek Palettes and I’m SO excited to share up close swatches, shade descriptions, and my overall thoughts on these double-duty beauties! I’ve been fascinated with crystal-healing and energy healing for years now and have grown my collection of crystals over time. Keep an eye our for a post all about crystal healing! So, when I first read that Aether Beauty, one of the first clean beauty brands to release a line of crystal-infused pressed makeup, is expanding their line of cosmetics, I actually did a little happy dance! Crystals and blush are two things that bring me joy and when they’re merged together, I just can’t help but feel inspired!
Today I’ll be specifically reviewing the Ruby Crystal Charged Cheek Palette, which contains two blush colors that are PERFECT for fall and winter (but I’ve also been using them everyday since I purchased it in May!), as well as one highlight shade that is deeper in tone, so it doubles as a blush topper and eyeshadow shade!
Each palette is infused with Ruby gemstone powder, which is said to increase hydration levels in the skin for a radiant, youthful glow. Ruby’s energy healing properties include: “Increases vitality; Enhances motivation; Stimulates Tantric energy; Promotes the rising of the Kundalini; Encourages the exploration of new thoughts and ideas; Enhances feelings of passion (both in life and in relationships) Aids in opening the Heart Chakra; Creates feelings of divine love” (quote from loveandlightschool.com). Ruby is actually my birthstone, the birthstone for July, and is one of the most prized precious gemstones from ancient times to the modern era!
Additionally, each cheek palette is formulated with organic rosehip oil, which is one of my all-time favorite oils for healing scarring, hyperpigmentation, and calming inflammation. Each palette is also formulated with jojoba seed oil, which has anti-inflammatory properties, and is similar to the sebum in our own skin, which helps balance oil levels in one’s skin. Lastly, Indian Sappanwood Bark Extract is formulated into each palette, which is full of anti-oxidants for skin healing benefits!

About packaging: Aether Beauty created the first fully recyclable packaging to their palettes, which means there is no mirror (I don’t mind this because I hardly ever use the mirrors that come in palettes anyway), and instead of a magnetic closure, they use an elastic band to keep the palette closed when you’re not using it. It may take a bit of getting used to at first, but it works, and it’s SO MUCH BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT! A Clean Beauty blush palette infused with crystal healing energy and skin benefits, as well as proceeds that go to a greater cause, AND packaging that is mindful of our environmental impact?! It’s a Green Beauty Dream Come True!

Let’s get into SHADE DESCRIPTIONS!
Pure Love: This highlight shade is definitely on the deeper side in the illuminator category, with peach, gold, and subtle bronze undertones for an overall “rose gold” effect. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to use this shade since I’m super pale, BUT, I actually reach for this shade more than the majority of highlight shades I own because it’s so versatile! Not only would this shade be AMAZING on deeper skin-tones for a gorgeous glow from within look, but it also makes a beautiful blush topper to add dimension to any matte blush shade you own! I also LOVE it as a one and done eyeshadow shade, so this has been my go-to palette all throughout quarantine! I can also use this shade as a highlight if I apply with a light hand in the usual places: top of cheekbones, nose, a little on the forehead and chin. This is the only highlight shade offered from Aether Beauty that DOES NOT have overt glitter particles and leaves the perfect pearlescent glow!
Aphrodisiac: Matte, medium petal pink with neutral undertones. This shade can be built up for a deeper effect, as well. The swatch shades show some shimmer, but this is not evident when applied on the skin. This is a perfect daily staple shade that will go with any outfit, for quiet days at home, and to bring on those nostalgic, English Rose vibes! It’s hard to find a solid pink blush that’s not too warm or too cool and this one is just right! When I’m feeling sassy, I love applying Pure Love as a blush topper for a more rose-gold effect!
Divinity: Don’t be intimidated by this shade! This gorgeous shade is vintage inspired and is a classic medium-deep red-toned, berry shade with rose undertones and subtle shimmer for a glow from within effect! This is my FAVORITE BLUSH SHADE OF ALL TIME!! I absolutely adore red-toned blushes after years and years of steering clear of them since I spend so much time evening out my skin-tone with mineral makeup, but I was truly missing out! Divinity is literally the gemstone Ruby in Blush form and when I wear it, it reminds me of all things nostalgic, all the romance novels I’ve read, of time periods gone by, and the empowering beauty that lies within us all.
Divinity is not a “brick red” that can look like a bruise on one’s face and is probably why many people are afraid to try red-toned blushes. Divinity is different because it has this unmistakable rose, berry, subtle magenta pink undertone that makes the shade appear vibrant, giving much needed life to one’s cheeks and this is what I wanted to capture in my swatch photos in natural lighting. You can apply this blush with a super light hand and blend it out if you’re fair-skinned, or apply it full on if you have a medium to deep skin-tone and it will truly be flattering on every single skin-tone! It’s such an empowering and fun shade! Divinity also reminds me of the blush shade worn by Rachel McAdams in the Notebook (I’ve been trying to match that blush shade for years and years!).

I’m honestly very impressed with these Crystal Charged Cheek Palettes from Aether Beauty! I was afraid it would be too good to be true blending the energy healing power of crystals with my love of green beauty, all wrapped up in a beautiful pressed palette! And, a pressed BLUSH palette to boot! I actually love and use all three shades in the Crystal Charged Ruby Palette and am super impressed with the wear time of each shade! I’ve worn these shades on wickedly hot days throughout the summer, sweated profusely on hikes through the woods, and somehow, I still have blush on at the end of my 15 hour day! I’ve also tried Aether Beauty’s Eyeshadow Palettes in Rose Quartz & Summer Solstice and highly recommend those, as well!
