Wow, ladies (& ‘gents! If you’re reading, too 🤗), Red Apple Lipstick has knocked it out of the park with this amazing NEW Summer Collection for 2019 featuring four new shades: Let’s Flamingle, Day After Morocco, Kissimmee, & Oh Snapdragon, as well as the return of an old staple: Red Apple Red (formerly known as Red 101). It’s very rare that I see an entire collection and fall in love with every single shade! Each shade is incredibly unique, YET oh-so-wearable, you’ll literally fall in love with lipstick all over again!! These past few years have been rough & whenever we’re experiencing trying times, we can lose our connection to all the little things in life that once made us feel alive. Suffice it to say, this collection lit a fire under me like I haven’t felt in a long time! With each swipe of lipstick, I was reminded how powerful makeup can be! Adding color to the face is a form of self expression as well as allowing us to feel bold, confident, & ready to take on the day. Life is just so much more fun when you add some color to your world in any way that you can! Whether that’s subtle or bold, you call the shots, & feel empowered in your choices!

Lip Swatches & Shade Descriptions
***I like to show photos in different lighting when I can to try to convey the full range of the shade of lipstick. Colors can vary so much depending on time of day, indoor/outdoor lighting, artificial lighting, direct sunlight, etc. So, I do my best to capture what the shade looks like most of the time & I’ll add in extra photos in different lighting when necessary!👍
Let’s Flamingle: is a fun, flirty, light, warm pink with a cream finish & no shimmer/sheen. Any shine you see in my lip swatch photos is just from the light reflecting off my lips, FYI 😊. Since this is a light pink, I definitely recommend exfoliating your lips beforehand, especially if you’ve been out in the sun a lot & are dealing with some lip flaking, as shades like this can tend to show this type of dryness more than others due to the cream finish. If you don’t have time to exfoliate, putting a clear balm, like Rallye Balm, underneath & then applying lighter shades like Let’s Flamingle on top will help prevent this from happening. I think Let’s Flamingle would particularly be a gorgeous light, nude pink with flare on tan, medium, & deeper skin-tones! It’s also a great shade for anyone who loves baby pink shades! 🌺✨Let’s Flamingle is such a fun, girly shade for these warmer months that reminds us not to sweat the small stuff & enjoy life!
Day after Morocco: is a warm-toned nude with subdued English Rose undertones with a cream finish & a super moisturizing formula 😍👌! This shade is unlike anything else I own, but if you’re a fan of Twist N Pout (one of my all time favs during the warmer months!) Lipstick from RAL, Day After Morocco is also a warm-toned nude rose in the same color family that’s fun, but reliable & super flattering! Sweet Pea from Last Year’s LE Spring Collection is definitely warmer & more orange in comparison. Day After Morocco is beautifully balanced by an underlay of mid-toned rusty rose that gives so much life to the face. This warm nude with a wearable rosey undertone also reminds me of Chai Love You if it had a sweet, sassy younger sister! This type of medium, terracotta rose is truly gorgeous for each season giving warmth and light to the face! Did I also mention how incredibly moisturizing & creamy it is?? I hope my photos show this aspect! It really feels like a lip balm & lipstick in one. This formula is lipstick heaven! 👌😍👍
Kissimmee: is a mid-toned, warm rose with a cream finish & full on pigment that is SO pretty & long lasting!!! Kissimmee is sort of like if Chai Love You had a sassy, livelier sister with stronger rosey undertones! It’s such a unique, but wearable shade because it’s essentially a warm rose with this muted oomph of a hint of brightness to make it fun during these warmer months, while still being an everyday staple shade all year round. I honestly can’t imagine Kissimmee looking bad on anyone, it’s just that type of shade! 😊👍👌I definitely would feel comfortable wearing this shade during the day, to the office, running errands, etc, but it’s still packing enough color for a night out or any special event you may be attending. It’s one of those shades that can be dressed up or down & it brings so much warmth to the face to give the illusion of health & overall Wellbeing! This is also the kind of shade that looks amazing on every skin tone & is great for any generation (I love this shade myself, but it would also be a great gift/shade choice for mom & grandma!). Kissimmee is quintessentially universally flattering & is an everyday staple across the board!
Oh Snapdragon: is a super fun, yet oh-so flattering shade of the most unique & wearable lavender with subdued fuchsia undertones & a cream finish 😍😍😍 that brings out everything in me that makes me feel alive! Since I have warmer undertones, anything too overtly “purple” looks awful on me in terms of makeup, so if I can wear this shade, ANYONE can! When I was super “goth” back in high school 😅, I had this purple shade of toxin-laden lipstick that left this amazing subdued, vibrant plum-fuschia stain behind. I’ve been searching for that exact color for 18 years and Snapdragon is THE EXACT shade I was looking for! I have never, ever found it in the green beauty realm until now! See, in my experience, I’ve found that the only true way to make purple work across the board for a variety of skin-tones & preferences, is to add a subtle rose undertone that makes it more of a bright sugar plum fairy vibe. Many brands don’t seem to get this when they make purple shades, though 🤷♀️. RAL to the rescue! 🙌Shades like Oh Snapdragon look ah-mazing on medium, tan, & deep skin tones, as well 😍! Completely & utterly Drool worthy on so many skin tones. As soon as I applied this shade, I felt lighter, happier, uplifted, & ready for any summer activity, festival, or night out! 💜 Oh Snapdragon is mid-toned, so it’s totally daytime appropriate & depending on what type of job you have, you should be able to get away with rocking this shade at work. It’s also super moisturizing & lasts SO long, I can’t even believe it! Lastly, if that’s not perfect enough, it leaves this gorgeous stain behind that livens up any tinted lip balm applied on top. Even after my nighttime shower, before going to bed, my lips looked alive and my clear Rallye Balm just made me look like I had super healthy lips! Oh Snapdragon may not be your daily go-to shade, BUT, I think everyone needs a little Oh Snapdragon in their lives when they want to live a little (or a lot!) 🤗✨.
Red Apple Red: is the quintessential, classic, true Pin-up RED that has perfectly balanced undertones. This is a true CHERRY red, through and through. It makes my teeth look SO white because it has blue undertones. There is no “pink” in this red, which is my biggest gripe with many reds offered by other brands. Many reds tend to pull dark pink on me and that’s not what I was looking for. Red Apple Red is RAL’s signature shade (formerly known as Red 101). When you think 1940’s pin-up girl or Marilyn Monroe, Red Apple Red will deliver just what you’re looking for! A true red that is bold, long lasting, moisturizing, & truly as flattering as any true red can be. I love this shade full on, but I also love it as a stain when I blot with a tissue! This makes it very wearable for a daytime look of cherry-stained lips. I was so hesitant about this shade when I saw it in the tube, but once I applied it & took a good look in the mirror, I felt so empowered to seize the day & anything else life may throw my way!
