Honest Beauty Everything Makeup Palette Review

Hi, everyone! Today I’d like to review Honest Beauty’s Everything Makeup Palette (by Jessica Alba). This palette contains 5 pressed eyeshadows, 1 cream blush, and 2 lip tints. The palette is sleek and has a lightweight cardboard packaging with an included mirror and magnetic closure. I’m pretty confident that this palette would hold up well if you wanted to travel with it, take it with you on the go, or stash it in your desk at work for touch ups.

This palette retails for $35.00 on honestbeauty.com, however, I added mine to my bundle and received 25% off, so I paid about $25.00 for mine.

I go into detail about buying from Honest Beauty and how their Bundle system works in my previous Honest Beauty post here.

I LOVE how the plastic insert has the words “Face Anything” on it! Nice touch!

The eyeshadow names are pretty self explanatory, as they really didn’t try to get too creative here with the shade names! But, I’ll give you my interpretation of the colors.

The overall quality of the eyeshadows is quite nice. There’s little powder kick-up when dipping your brush in, so it’s not too messy. The shades are densely packed, while being very pigmented. They’re easily blendable and buildable.

Charcoal: A darkened, deep charcoal grey with blue/navy undertones and multi-colored shimmer. This is a great liner shade!

Pewter: This is a mid-tone, cool grey with a silver sheen and some silver shimmer. This works as a crease shade if you’re going for a cool-toned look.

Everyday Canvas: This shade is a completely matte ivory shade that is perfect to set eye primer, highlight the brow bone, and use as a subtle inner corner highlight. It pretty much matches my skin, which is why it’s hard to see in the swatches. This is a nice staple color to have in a palette.

Champagne Shimmer: This is my favorite shade of the palette, as it’s a pretty golden champagne shade that is the perfect all over one color lid shade to brighten up your eyes. This shade has a sheen with no overt shimmer.

Bronze Shimmer: A Mid tone antique bronze shade. Great for the crease or as a liner. This shade adds subtle warmth, but is also a great neutral bronze shade that can be subtle or built up. It has more of a sheen, rather than overt shimmer.

Overall, I like how even though there’s only 5 shadows, the five shades offer either a solid cool-toned look or neutral/warm-toned look. The shades can be applied subtly for daytime wear or amped up for evening.

Blush and Lip Tints:

Blush in Truly Thrilling

Lip Tint in Mulberry Kiss & Honey Kiss

As you can see from this photo, since these are cream-based products and the packaging is cardboard, once you get any color around the pan, it’s really difficult to clean off. It really doesn’t make a difference to me because it’s just appearances. But, for the sake of this photo, I thought I’d mention it.

Truly Thrilling Blush: a soft, neutral nude peach-pink cream blush. I tried applying it with a stippling brush, but I didn’t find it gave me enough pigment, so I think it’s best to apply with your fingertips and blend it out with your fingers or a stippling brush. It’s a very pretty, soft color that would be great for the office or daytime. It’s the type of color that will match anything. The longevity of their cream blushes isn’t bad for a cream product, with some visible fading around 6 hours. I like to personally set mine with a light dusting of a powder blush and this gives me 10+ hours of wear. Keep in mind, I also have oily skin, so someone with a different skin type may have a different experience. I have had other natural cream blushes last longer on me, though, without needing to set it with a powder blush.

Mulberry Kiss Lip Tint: A medium-deep berry tone with some magenta to brighten up the color. It’s a beautiful color and pretty unique, in my opinion! It can be built up to be a deeper tone or sheered out to be a nice berry stain. The one downside is that I don’t find these lip tints to be particularly moisturizing. The formula also feels different than the lip tint formula in the Stick form for their full size lip tints, which are thicker in consistency and more moisturizing.

Honey Kiss Lip Tint: This is a light, neutral matte nude color. I know nude lips are all the rage right now, but I just can’t get into it. I usually go for a more pink-based nude or a medium toned mauve nude, but this color is a beige-nude. I think because I’m so fair-skinned, most nude lip shades look horrible on me and wash me out. This color does me no favors and in my humble opinion, isn’t lipstick designed to “enhance” your lip color, rather than “take away” from your natural lip color? However, I do LOVE mixing Honey Kiss and Mulberry Kiss together! This combo makes Mulberry Kiss a bit softer and lighter.

Overall, if you have a lot of makeup, you’re bound to find similar colors in your current makeup stash. There’s nothing particularly unique about the shades in this palette, but I think it was designed to be more of an everyday-wear, neutral palette where you can create looks without thinking too much. In terms of a portable, neutral palette with everything you need to create a makeup look (aside from foundation, bronzer, and mascara), this is a pretty solid palette. Also, in terms of pricing in the Natural Beauty realm, this palette is a great deal!
