One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm

Hi, everyone! Today I will be reviewing One Love Organics’ Vitamin E Eye Balm, which retails for $49.00 USD  for .65 oz and can be found at oneloveorganics.com. I’ve been experiencing severe dermatitis in my eye area, which causes puffiness, redness, swelling, dryness, extreme itchiness, peeling, and an overall scratchy “sand in the eye” feeling that is constant. I’ve been experiencing these symptoms in varying degrees for almost a year for the first time in my life. I have no idea what causes it, even after doing extensive research. There are many different elusive ideas behind what may or may not be the cause regarding both internal as well as external factors.

One day I woke up and could barely open my eyes because my eyelids were so inflamed. My eyes teared up constantly and my vision was always blurry. I finally went to the doctor after giving up on attempting to cure it using natural products and home-made salves. The doctor confirmed that it’s dermatitis and proceeded to prescribe me a cream that is a very strong corticosteroid and antibiotic. He stated that “they” don’t know what causes this reaction, but they can treat the symptoms. Sound familiar? That’s what traditional doctors say about every disease or disorder (but that’s another blog post entirely!).

I used the cream my doctor prescribed me for 3 months on and off because it made the symptoms go away, but the symptoms would always creep back up in a few days after stopping the usage of the prescription cream. This is what led me to the One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm and I am so, so glad I gave in and gave it a try!

The Vitamin E Eye Balm has reviews on the One Love Organics site from happy customers who reported that they also suffered from eye dermatitis or eczema and this was the only product that kept it at bay. I was honestly weary of these claims because I’ve been using different all natural eye products for years and when I read the ingredients, I couldn’t figure out what was in it that would seemingly miraculously cure this very persistent condition. I’m also attempting to do Project Pan throughout 2016 (which means I’m going to use up staple products before purchasing others) and I already have 2 eye creams I’ve been working through.

Finally after stalking the One Love Organics site while continuing to put endocrine disrupting poison on my eye area every week, my ever so kind and beautiful mother made a deal with me that she would buy the Eye Balm so I could give it a try without going against my Project Pan goal (sneaky, I know, and sad because I’m a grown woman after all!).

After one application, my eye area was less itchy, less inflamed, and my eyes didn’t feel as scratchy. I thought it might be wishful thinking, but I kept using the product morning and night. It’s a thick balm-like consistency, hence the name Eye Balm, so .65 oz will last a very long time. I wash my hands and use my finger to warm up the product (I know, I know, not the most hygienic, but I’m too lazy to use a tiny spatula). I then spread the product in multiple layers over each eyelid, under my eye area, and up to my eye brows (they get itchy, too). I use more product at night to really let it work its magic and it leaves a nice layer over my eye area. In the morning I use one layer before I apply my makeup (if I’m wearing makeup that day) and it leaves my skin slightly dewy, but it doesn’t affect the wear time of my eye makeup at all.

3 days later, my dermatitis seems to be completely gone. No more redness or itchiness, no more swelling or puffiness, and the dry flakiness around my eyes is completely gone. I started thinking “this is just too good to be true, it’s going to come back” just like it always came back when I was using the prescription from my doctor.

1 week later, my eye area is looking healthy again, brightened, nourished….dare I say, relieved? That eye area was workin’ really hard for me this past year and it’s been absolutely LOVING this Eye Balm! My symptoms are still at bay and I truly, truly could not be happier. The price tag may have seemed steep when I was first debating on buying this, but it is worth every single penny because it WORKS. I’d rather pay more for a product that does the job than pay less for a product that doesn’t do anything for me. Plus, I feel good knowing that I’m putting natural, organic, and pure ingredients on such a sensitive and important area. My fine lines are even looking less noticeable and the veining under my eyes that I’ve always had looks less obvious. So, not only is this stuff literally a miracle in a pot for eye dermatitis, but it also works its magic on all the other aspects of ageing that we try to battle through the years.

Believe me, I am not being paid for this review in any way. Unfortunately, Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics has no idea who I am, but if she ever stumbles across this review, I want to say THANK YOU from the very bottom of my heart…. I’m writing this review hoping that more people will find it in case they are looking for a natural eye balm that really works and that doesn’t contain a long list full of harmful ingredients.

This product has a faint herbal smell, which I actually like (but that could be the inner hippie in me). The smell doesn’t linger and it is naturally derived from herbs, plant extracts, and essential oils.

The ingredient listing is:

butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter*, jojoba esters (and) tocopherol, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, punica granatum (pomegranate) sterols, adansonia digitata (baobab) oil*, aspalathus linearis (rooibos) extract*, centella asiatica (gotu kola) extract*, euphrasia officinalis (eyebright) extract*, caprylic/capric triglyceride (and) alaria esculenta (kelp) extract, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) essential oil*, foeniculum vulgare (fennel) essential oil* – See more at: http://shop.oneloveorganics.com/products/vitamin-e-eye-balm#sthash.JA19DPVD.dpuf
