Bare Minerals Lovescape Trio Collection on QVC January, 2016

Spread the love

Hi, everyone! Today I will be reviewing and providing swatches of the new Bare Minerals Lovescape Trio on QVC, which is their featured release for Valentine’s Day, 2016!

Lovescape Trio

This trio has appropriately romantic themed names for each item in the set:

Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in “Chase Your Dreams”, which is a beautiful, mid-tone mauve, rose shade with a touch of micro-shimmer sprinkled throughout, which adds a nice, subtle sheen to the lips. Subdued enough for daily wear at the office, while still being vivid enough for going out at night. The formula is very pigmented, decently moisturizing, and it lasts for at least 4-5 hours while leaving an even stain behind as it wears off.

The below picture shows the lipstick on left and the color boost on right.

READY Color Boost in “The Stolen Heart”, which is incorrectly described as “Peach” on QVC, but in real life it’s actually a very flattering, soft mauve with a cool-toned light pink highlighter. When both shades are mixed together, it creates a lovely glow with absolutely no shimmer, while still giving the skin a pretty sheen that reflects light in the most natural way. The colors can also be used separately if you want to avoid any sheen or only use the highlighter on certain areas of the face. These shades also double as eyeshadows!

The Color Boost doesn’t swatch very well because it’s relatively sheer, however, it definitely shows up as blush when applied on the cheeks for anyone up to a medium skin-tone. Women of a deeper skin-tone may find that it’s more of a highlighter.

READY Eyeshadow Quad in “The Instant Attraction”, which features four shades:

Eyeshadows in palette

Whirlwind: a soft, pale peach with pink duochrome and a satin-matte finish

Happenstance: a neutral, antique gold with a sheen, soft shimmer finish.

Anticipation: a medium cranberry, mauve shade with golden duochrome and shimmer.

Meant to Be: a medium/dark brown with plum undertones and pink & teal shimmer.

All of these shades can be applied very sheerly or can be built up for added drama and shimmery goodness, depending on your mood!

Some people may be disappointed that this eyeshadow quad doesn’t include a traditional “matte crease” shade. However, “Meant to Be” works really well in the crease because it blends beautifully. “Meant to Be” also works as an eyeliner if applied with an angled liner brush. So, in my opinion, this quad does work as a stand-alone palette and can be thrown into your makeup bag for on-the-go application and travel without needing anything else.

Overall, this little trio is housed in shiny, gold packaging, which is nice because it can be easily spotted in your makeup collection and it also looks nice sitting on my vanity. It does, however, show every little fingerprint due to its shininess, but, oh well! I think what’s inside is what really counts (no cheesy lovey-dovey puns intended!). And, as the video on QVC highlights, this collection will definitely “warm up” your looks and make you feel sexy and warm throughout this cold, winter weather!
