Honest Beauty is Jessica Alba’s natural cosmetics line that was released in September of 2015, so it is relatively new and reviews are pretty scarce at the moment. Jessica Alba’s more well-known company is called Honest Comapny, which features all-natural and eco-friendly house-hold items, hair care, and baby-care products.

I feel that it’s important to review mainstream natural beauty brands like this because Jessica Alba’s mission is strongly rooted in providing high quality, affordable natural makeup with an AMAZING return policy. Any product that you buy from honestbeauty.com can be returned, no questions asked, within 365 days. I have never, ever seen such a generous return policy! So, even though the one drawback is that you can’t swatch these products in a store, the upside is that if you purchase something online that you don’t like, you can easily return it for a full refund.
The other interesting concept about Honest Beauty is that they offer Bundle packages, which means that you can buy any three products from their cosmetics and skincare range for the flat price of $50.00 total, regardless of each individual item’s retail value.
For example, you can purchase a Cream Foundation retail value $30.00, Eyeshadow Trio retail value $25.00, and Dusk Reflection Luminizer retail value $25.00, which when added up equals $80.00 total if you were to buy each item individually. But, if you buy it in a bundle, it will only cost $50.00 total and then you can add additional items to your bundle with an extra 25% off each additional item added (which is great for the less pricey items, such as lip tints, cream blush, etc.).
The deal with the Bundle package is that you will be entered into an automatic delivery system where every 4-6-8 weeks you’ll get a new Bundle, which you can of course cancel at any time. You can also switch out items in your upcoming bundle to reflect new items you may want to try. Additionally, although it says you have to get a shipment every 4,6 or 8 weeks, you can continue to push back the date for months upon months if you’re not ready for a new bundle. For example, I purchased a bundle in November of 2015 and I’ve been pushing my date back because I’m not ready for a new bundle. You just have to stay on top of it to avoid having unwanted items shipped to you. Honest Beauty is very good about sending reminder emails a few days before your scheduled shipment date to ensure that you don’t want to make any changes (which is VERY helpful)
Now, onto the Truly Magnetic Heather Mauve Eyeshadow Trio Review!
Honest Beauty’s Eyeshadow Trios come packaged in a sturdy, silver cardboard case with a magnetic closure. Their logo is on the front of the compact and on the back of the compact the name of the trio is listed along with the product amount.
Each eyeshadow trio comes with 3 generous sized eyeshadows with a total of 4.50grams of product.
The retail price of this individual trio (when not purchased in a Bundle) is $25.00. When it comes to natural beauty products, particularly mainstream natural beauty products, this is actually a fair price considering how much product you get in each trio. You can’t compare natural beauty prices to prices of makeup found at the drugstore (even though drugstore makeup prices have skyrocketed over the past 5 years or so).
The inside of the compact does not list the names of each individual eyeshadow, however, it does include a nice sized mirror and a compartment to store their card, which gives an example of a look that you can do with the shades in this trio.
Up close image:
You get three pigmented, buttery smooth, complimentary shades to create the perfect subtle, soft daytime look as well as a sultry night-time look.
All shades blend beautifully, are fully pigmented, and create little powder kickback. It’s very easy to apply the shades subtly or vividly, depending on the look you’re going for.
From left to right shade descriptions:
- Mid=tone matte dusty mauve (perfect crease color–can be built up easily)
- Deep Violet sheen (great as a liner or outer v shade)
- Light pink champagne highlight with a soft sheen (great for all over the lid, inner corner, and to brighten the inner part of the lid).
All of the above swatches were done using one swipe! Zero patchiness!
This is the perfect trio to use all year round, but I’m particularly loving it to subtly brighten up these frigid winter days by reminding me of the soft pinks of Spring!
